If you are interested in learning how to catch trout, taking some Fly Fishing Lessons may get you hooked (no pun intended). I learned to fly fish when I was about five or six years old. My dad taught me how to cast a fly rod in our side yard using a half-length fly rod and a 20-30 foot length of fat crafting yarn that my mother had left-over from some Halloween project.
I remember him standing behind me, with his hand over mind, casting the rod back and forth, back and forth. It was so simple and so satisfying, even for a little girl. The bright pink yarn he had threaded through the fly rod glowed in the sky as it sailed and floated over my head.
At that age, I didn't even really have a love for fishing (that wouldn't come for another 30 years!), but the beauty and simplicity of my first fly fishing lessons have never left me.
